I can confirm this on Intrepid Ibex, Kernel 2.6.27-7-generic, 32-bit running on a Clevo M570RU.
I changed a few things, one or more of which seems to have resolved the problem (I'm not sure which): - I changed the video mode on the kernel boot line in /boot/grub/menu.lst (I has previously run Startup Manager but the video mode it inserted did not work on my laptop, so I had to manually edit the file to add a supported mode) - I found that the following log files were upwards of 2GB in size: /var/log/kern.log /var/log/messages /var/log/debug /var/log/syslog I basically ran 'dd if=/dev/zero of=<file name> bs=1 count=0' on each file, then rebooted. -- System beep goes nuts on start up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255590 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
