** Description changed:

When my laptop is running for several hours with the screensaver
enabled, it sometimes happens that the mouse cursor shuffles from the
left to the right (only a few millimeters). This is very annoying. When
I put my finger on the mousepad, the shuffling stops, but it starts
again when I remove my finger.

The shuffling automatically stops after some time, but I remember that I
had to restart the X server in previous Ubuntu releases to solve this
  issue (so it improved).

  Other information:
  * laptop: Macbook (last version before Apple switched to 64 bit Intel CPUs)
  * A simple USB optical mouse from Logitech is connected to my laptop
+
+
+ Update: the shuffling also stops when I put my finger on the mousepad, then
move the mouse cursor (with the Logitech mouse) to a scroll bar, click on it
(with mouse), and then move the scroll bar with the mouse. I could fix the
shuffling twice this way and I guess I always will be able to fix it like this.
