Sorry, that was my bad. That should be /etc/rc6.d/S90reboot. Of course, it goes without saying that both scripts are links to /etc/init.d, but the results are the same. Fix both scripts, fix the message problem. And for those with an old BIOS that stops ACPI, make the entry in /etc/modules and the machine powers down as it should. At least that's what I have found consistently in both 7.10 and 8.04 -- and now it appears perhaps 8.10 also.
