Public bug reported:

I am using Edgy 6.10 with all updates applied.

I have been trying to get my Canon MP500 multifunction printer to work
with drivers found here...
http://mambo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~takushi/#canon

These are based on "official" Canon drivers but have been setup for
debian/ubuntu use as originals are .rpm. When I first installed them, I
think I accidentally grabbed the debian packages instead of ubuntu
specific. I tried the web interface for cups and I think I intially
used the IP4200 driver as I thought that would be how it's identified.
The intial use worked perfectly! Then I rebooted and it would not
print. I have since tried installing the correct packages and
identifying the specific driver but still no luck. I tried reinstalling
cupsys-client and have changed my LogLevel in cupsd.conf. These drivers
have been reported working with other printers and the maintainer claims
Edgy is supported. Since it printed successfully before, I thought it
might be a cups issue. I will try to attach error_log.

** Affects: cupsys (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
