Hi, I just reinstalled Ubuntu and found that it worked before I copied my home folder back. After I did, it stopped working again. So it must have had something to do with changes in the xorg.conf file that were not compatible with the new version. I got rid of all the settings concerning the desktop and now it is working. Thus, it is probably not a bug but a setting.
Thanks for the help anyway! As a note for the future, it would be nice to have some kind of tool that selectively can reset parts of the settings. E.g., you overwrite all setttings in the home directory concerning compiz changes that might screw up the system or the like....
