Public bug reported: I've got a Samsung R40, model NP-R40K004. Suspend usually works in Ubuntu 8.04 just fine (though from time to time it doesn't work, but most of the time - it works). I've installed now Intrepid 8.10 32bits, with kernel 2.6.27-7-generic, and it doesn't work anymore. Neither does work Hibernate. I'm using the open source ati driver by the way in both systems 8.04 and 8.10.
I'v followed the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend and this is the result: [ 1.918906] Magic number: 0:644:577 [ 1.918953] tty ptyb9: hash matches I attach the dmesg output. I've also done the tests in http://lxr.linux.no/linux/Documentation/power/basic-pm-debugging.txt, point 1.a) and they did work. I've installed tuxonice-userui and configured it with dpkg-reconfigure and then I've tried s2both / s2disk (it didn't install s2ram, I wonder where is the s2ram package for ubuntu) and it doesn't enter into hibernated/suspended mode.. If you need any other output please tell me the instructions of how to do it and I will give it to you. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Regression: Resume from Suspend & hibernate hard freezes kernel in Intrepid in Samsung R40 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295106 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
