Thanks for reporting this bug. However more information is needed. There seems to be quite a few reported bugs affecting iwl3945 and the Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card. Search for "iwl3945" and see if you are affected by any of them. Also there is a known problem with this driver which was included in the release notes of Ubuntu 8.10. http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/810#Only US wireless channels enabled by default on Intel 3945
If you still think this is a new bug, please give us the output from the following commands to start with: * uname -a * lshw -C network * iwscan scanning * cat /etc/lsb-release Then restart your computer (ok, not reealy needed, but makes it a little easier to read the log). If possible, try to connect.
