Jean Baptiste,

This seemed to happen after the following upgrade:

linux-headers-2.6.27-7 (2.6.27-7.15) to 2.6.27-7.16
linux-headers-2.6.27-7-generic (2.6.27-7.15) to 2.6.27-7.16
linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic (2.6.27-7.15) to 2.6.27-7.16

Switch off trick is still working.

I will try adding acpi=off to menu.lst and let you know what happens.

Thanks,

Jerry
