I have the last Ubuntu 8.10 with all the updates.. And I don't have this
problem.
Using sudo blkid I get this swap id:
/dev/sda7: TYPE="swap" UUID="11215990-0ba0-42f5-9233-154e97c1ac63"
Using sudo vol_id --uuid /dev/sda7
11215990-0ba0-42f5-9233-154e97c1ac63
And my fstab have this line:
# /dev/sda7
UUID=11215990-0ba0-42f5-9233-154e97c1ac63 none swap sw
0 0
And finally, using free -m I get this:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1009 909 100 0 49 271
-/+ buffers/cache: 588 420
Swap: 1937 5 1932
Swap is working... I don't think that this is a bug.. just because a web page
like this:
