Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 8.10 i386 fails to resume from a successfull hibernation. After
pressing the hibernation button on keyboard, it goes down and turns off
completely. Waiting a few secs, then power on. Nothing happens, only
black screen. The system tries to do something with the DVD-+RW drive,
no matter if it contains any kind of media. It won't stop trying to read
something from the drive. I wait about 1 min, then forced power off
(power button for 5 secs), power on, and the system boots up normally:
bios screen, grub, Ubuntu login screen.

Ubuntu 8.10 i386, installed from the desktop cd iso (downloaded with the
official torrent file). All packages updated as of 2008-11-08 17:20 GMT+01.
Hardware: standard ACPI desktop system, motherboard: MSI K9N4 Ultra-F (bios
v1.8), memory: 2x1 GB kingmax ddr2 800 mhz, vga: HIS Radeon X800XL PCIex16,
