Public bug reported:

The NetworkManager shows as a blank square in the System Tray on an
updated 8.10 kubuntu 8.10 install using the KDE 4.1 interface. I have an
active ethernet connection and an active wireless networking connection.

Right-clicking on the square and selecting "Connection information"
results in a warning box saying "No valid connections found!" despite
this valid eth0 connection being used to enter the bug.

Edit Connections shows eth0 and eth1 connections as present, and flagged
to be active on startup.

The applet identifies itself in "About" as NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0
and in dpkg as 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1
