Hi ManBoy,
It seems this is a problem that currently will not be fixed, but for the moment
there is a solution. Have a look at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SerialMouseHowto - all the info you need to
get this working is there. This really should be fixed with a mouse searching
facility in ubiquity, and if none is found, then it should ask if the mouse is
serial. This is present in Mandriva apparently.
Hope it all works out OK, report back if not and we'll see where to go from
