Public bug reported:
I just build up a new computer. I currently have a fresh Hardy (8.04)
on it. Just installed from CD, then got all the updates.
I can suspend (suspend-to-ram, S3) the computer fine. Problem is that I
can't get it to resume. I hit a button and the fans come on, things
start to spin up, but the screen stays black. It never gets beyond
that, caps lock and num lock do work. I have to hold the power button
to reboot it.
Hibernate (suspend-to-disk, S4) works fine.
I've also tried with the initial release of Intrepid with the same
results.
I've attached a bunch of logs, I did have the following error when creating the
tarball of /proc/acpi:
cp: cannot open `/proc/acpi/event' for reading: Device or resource busy
** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
