The same thing happened to me using Adept 3.0-beta4, on kubuntu 8.10
final release AMD64.  Once I manually corrected the bad entry in the
sources.list file, using Kate, then Adept started working again.  Until
then, it wouldn't even open!

Something as small as a bad repository address shouldn't crash the whole
Adept application. This is a real flaw in the program.
