Thanks for reporting this problem and helping to make Ubuntu better.
To help resolve this problem can you please attach the output of the following
commands after a fresh reboot and starting Ekiga with this problem:
uname -a > uname-a.log
cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
dmesg > dmesg.log
sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
Also, compiling your own packages is not officially supported by Ubuntu, the
latest supported version at this time is 2.0.12-0ubuntu5 You can find what
version you have by using Synaptic or by typing "apt-cache policy ekiga"
