That is strange. vol_id only supports version 0 and 1 because dmraid only supports them. Version 2 is unknown and dmraid should reject it. The vol_id code was copied from dmraid, so they should work the same.
Can you attach the output files from dmraid -rD? Actually, now that I look more closely at the dmraid code, it looks like it only complains about version being > 1, but continues anyhow.
