Similar problems on my HP Pavilion dv6700t running Intrepid amd64. With Hardy the system always got warm when using it on my lap (blocking bottom air vents) but with Intrepid it overheats to the point of freezing with a flashing CAPS LOCK indicator light. Requires a power off and cold boot to bring the system back up.
