Ticket Description
Type of Inquiry: Laptop / Notebook support
Bus Type: PCI Express
Operating System: Linux X86
Other Driver Version: 8.54.3
Topic: Display
Sub-topic: ATI Catalyst Control Center
Graphics Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Product: RADEON Xpress 200M for AMD Processors
Summary: fglrx clone/bigdesktop tv-out/dvi does not work
Details: HP dv8000, AMD/ATI chipset, (K)Ubuntu 8.10
Both through control center and via aticonfig command line, tv-out and
dvi refuse to work. tv-out will sometime display garbled screen (akin to
PAL signal on NTSC tv). dvi will not display screen at all. On both
outputs when clone/bigdesktop are set, the main screen will go
completely blank, requiring x-server restart or computer restart. x.org
log looks clean, no noticeable errors.
tv-out did work on previous additions of flgrx in the Ubuntu
Feisty/Gutsy era. Perhaps related to recent architecture changes in x?
This is a major regression for me.
