Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
When trying to save an already detached file, even if you click cancel
it will overwrite the file with an empty one (file name persists
though).
I had already detached these files ages ago but when going back and
searching recently the emails still showed as having the attachment
still existing so I tried to detach and save when prompted to overwrite
I clicked 'Ok' then received the error:
"Unable to save the attachment. Please check your file name and try
again later"
The file is then overwritten with the same filename with zero length.
I'd imagine if you had previously detached a file having a place holder
for it for future searching should exist, but, the user should not be
able to detach a file again, especially overwriting it with a zero
length file. I'm sure the overwriting is correct since the file was
detached already and therefore it is a zero length file now.
