I am starting to doubt that my bug is the same as the Intel video bug
that it is marked as a duplicate of.  I think it might be a SMP/ACPI
interaction bug.  As reported before, I can almost always get the
machine to resume if I toggle between AC and battery several times.
Once resumed, I have the following messages in an open console:
