Hi there,
This should still not have happened. Most of the Ubuntu supported DVD player 
applications should have searched for and/or installed libdvdcss. Can you 
confirm which player(s) you were using and if any confirmations came up etc to 
install this. Also were your universe repositories enabled in Software Sources. 
Please do not change the status of your bug, as this stops the bug showing up 
in search results, and unless we are 100% sure it was a simple error and not a 
bug we cannot close it ourselves.
