I don't think it's the network card because if I download a package (either from Firefox or with wget) from the ubuntu repositories (http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/...) and then install it with dpkg -i all goes well. The only difference is that when I do this I save the file on my /home partition (ext3, partitioned and formatted with the i386 install CD), and my current / partition was formatted with the amd64 install CD. Could this have anything to to with it?? Thanks in advance
