Eh. Don't go through all that work. Fire up Synaptic, bring up the repositories (sorry, I'm not at my Linux PC, so I'm not sure all the right menu names), and make sure that the "Proposed" repository is turned on. Reload your repositories, and bring on the latest nvidia updates. I believe that 96.43.09 was the first version that worked, so make sure that the drivers you install show that update or later. Make sure you also install the latest jockey from proposed, since jockey in the main repositories has these drivers blacklisted.
One caveat. Some have noted (and I have confirmed) that certain programs run under Wine have messed up fonts. I have not noticed any issues with native Linux stuff yet. -- [NV25] Can't get over 800x600 resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252033 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
