I have duplicated this on my Dell e521 as well while trying to do a
clean install from CD. Using the official install ISOs (tried desktop
and alternate) the system will fail to boot the installer and drop into
an initramfs busybox shell. I believe I have the same configuration as
the OP but only 1 SATA harddrive. I've worked around the issue with a
netboot image on a thumbdrive.
