Public bug reported:
I decided to switch from pulseaudio to alsa and so wanted to uninstall
pulseaudio from my ubuntu-intrepid-system.
The uninstallation proces finished without problems, but when i restarted my PC
i couldn't log in anymore.
The X-Server gave me a window that told me that my session was active for less
then 10 seconds and the error-log told
me:
couldn't start /usr/bin/pulse-session no such file or directory
well, since i uninstalled pulseaudio it obviously couldn't be there anymore.
After deleting the file
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/70pulseaudio
i was again able to log in into gnome.
shouldn't that file have been deleted when pulseaudio was uninstalled?
I'm not sure what packages i uninstalled, i know that i uninstalled all
packages that start with pulseaudio
and i think a dependency conflict also uninstalled gnome-accessibility but
thats all i remember.
