Public bug reported:
I don't like the feature that allows me to use my touchpad taps as a
mouse button click, so I always disable it.
However, when my Inspiron 1525 comes back from Sleep (which I trigger
by closing/opening the laptop lid), the "Enable mouse clicks with
touchpad" feature is always On. Going to
System|Preferences|Mouse|Touchpad incorrectly shows that the feature is
disabled - it is ENABLED. Clicking twice on the checkbox in question
will then fix the problem, but it's an annoyance. In practice, I have to
do this every time my computer comes back from Sleep.
Please note that on boot, the feature is correctly disabled. This only
happens after a Sleep cycle.
