Well, I did *not* say your problem was with the IMAP server. I asked you to check on the subscriptions. I use IMAP also; I never used Courier- IMAP, but always Dovecot.
It is quite possible that Evo is doing something not quite right, or (more probably) not quite the Courier way; also there is IMAP and IMAP4rev1 -- and it seems Evo has some issues with IMAP4rev1 (and I never used IMAP4rev1). So any of these may have been affecting you. Anyway, as you say, you just wanted to get rid of your problem, not to solve it.
