If anybody else is looking for a more lightweight solution than gnome-user-share, the package gnome-bluetooth allows files to be received over bluetooth - install it, then go Accessories -> Bluetooth File Sharing. Baptiste, apologies again and I should have looked through apt-cache more closely before posting.
