Hey Magnus, I also tried turning off compiz and living without it. Didn't help. Still crashed. So I'm living with it again. Another thing I noticed recently is every time I restart after a crash, right before the login window loads, the screen flashes for a fraction of a second with a somewhat distorted image of my screen when it was frozen. I'm not sure if that's relevant or not or if for some reason it's just showing something that was in some sort of cache. I've also noticed that I only seem to be crashing when connected to my school's vpn connection. When I'm at home, I used a regular wireless connection (not sure whether it's a b g or n, I'll check when I go home tonight), but at school I'm connected to (I'm assuming either a b or g, since iwconfig lists it as IEEE 802.11abg, but we have to use a VPN to actually access the school's network.
