Feedback from intrepid-proposed:
- The first three mentioned strings are not translated still (or any in other
*ubuntu restricted extras). Checked with apt-cache show and gnome-app-install.
- Rhythmbox is now translated
- Gstreamer-ffmpeg is now translated
- Thoggen has short description translated, but the long description is not,
even though it is also definitely unchanged and translated.

I'm not sure if the lack of restricted extras translations are still
because DDTP-Ubuntu would be out of date regarding the real descriptions
or some other reason.

The lack of Thoggen's long description would indicate the problem related to
lack of it (and probably
others) was not completely fixed.

One more relevant example would be oggconvert, and the problem with it
might reflect the problem with thoggen. If you look at eg.
http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty/universe/i18n
/Translation-fi, you can see that the long untranslated part lacks line
changes. However, the original description has line changes, the Debian
translation (ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/dists/sid/main/i18n
/Translation-fi) has line changes, and it's correct in Launchpad too
(https://translations.launchpad.net/ddtp-ubuntu/ubuntu/+pots/ddtp-
ubuntu-universe/fi/32530/+translate). So it's all translated (and the
description is identical in Debian and Ubuntu), but somehow the
translation does not end up in the Ubuntu's i18n files.

Anyway, the intrepid-proposed updates are an important improvement, and
many new translations from Debian are available. Michael may want to
look into this further though, and mention if this should be now enough
for intrepid or not.
