Okay, so the cd should not be broken/corrupt then. Please also test with the Alternate cd (if you can) and see if your computer can boot from it. Perhaps we can isolate the problem to the desktop version...
We need to know what hardware you are using. If you're having ubuntu or any other linux dist installed, please attach the result from the following command: * lspci -vvnn >> ~/297468_lspci-vvnn.txt This will create the file 297468_lspci-vvnn.txt in your home directory, please attach that to this report. If you are using another operating system, you will need to figure out a way to get this information - i am sure there are tools available on the net.
