Hi Eythian, Thanks for reporting this bug. Examining the issue I found this bugreport https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fontconfig/+bug/14310 with some interesting comments: [paniq] the autohinter significantly degrades the appearance of known fonts such as tahoma, verdana, arial, etc. [Pascal de Bruijn] And the bytecode interpreter dramatically improves font rendering for all good quality fonts. When a font looks worse with the bytecode interpreter enabled, it means it's a crappy font! It's either has no hinting, or it's hinting has been botched!
This means you'd be looking for having the autohinter enabled for certain types of fonts and not for all fonts. Have a nice day -- Some fonts look strange when autohint is enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
