I wonder whether we might at least have a fallback to x-www-browser in cases 
where gnome-open and exo-open don't exist on the system?
This is particularly useful for people who built up an installation from the 
command-line and don't particularly want any of the heavy-weight stuff that 
GNOME and Firefox typically are.
