This bug is not any longer an issue for me since I upgraded the hardware
on that box. I now use another box.

Since receiving your email, I tried the following:
reverted to the Rev4 videocard in old box.
tested for 3D acceleration using 'Emilia Pinball' and 'fpwine installer'.

I find that Emilia Pinball (which needs GLX) does work, albeit too slow
to play the flippers.
But Fpwine installer reports "Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual".
It looks to me like some programs can find GLX and some cannot

If you still want the information asked for,  I would try to  provide.
