I understand that this isn't a high priority for you, but taking a little time early in the release cycle seems to be the only way to get this resolved for Jaunty. I don't see any way to make progress unless you give a hint as to what you feel is a better solution than my proposed patch. We should also take into account the fact that the libibverbs package has shipped group rdma rules for other device nodes for at least two Ubuntu releases now.
