Public bug reported:

I am using ubuntu 8.10. Kernel 2.6.27-7-generic. I used the standard
usb-stick install, installed first to the usb stick, using ubuntu live
cd, then installed to pc using live usb.

The internal SD reader does not read any sd cards, sdhc or sd.

********************************************************************************
The sd card reader has not worked from fresh install and I have found no work
around.

One last thing, if I reboot with the sd card in the reader, the fstab reads the
card, but if I try to mount the card using mount /dev/sdb1,

It returns

mount: special device /dev/sdb1 does not exist
