the dialog says:
document type
(select spreadsheet)
always save as
(opendocument spreadsheet)
which is correct....
I am closing this now, because it works for me.
Please feel free to reopen anytime.

openoffice calc => service => params... => open/save => common => always save
as => ms word! (should be excel)
