I suspect that this problem has something to do with new x.org...
I tried to do this:
/etc/init.d/gdm stop
...login in console...
cat /dev/input/by-path/pci-0000\:02\:0d.0--event-ir
and there was some output when I press buttons on remote control... just like
in Hardy,
so I suspect that xserver or something started with it block the device from
being used with LIRC.
Can somehow be configured x.org to not to use some device? Or at lest to share
the device and
not to block it completely?
attaching xorg.conf but nothing special is inside...
