There's also some other dependency issues with ldm packages, I reported these as bugs https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ldm/+bug/299944 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ldm/+bug/299947 . Now that Intrepid has been released, maybe you would be able to upload fixed packages to intrepid-proposed. No code changes, just fix these dependency issues.
