Binary package hint: pulseaudio
Okay, until now nothing particularly dangerous happens, but potentially,
it might.
I upgraded to jaunty and it installed latest pulseaudio (0.9.13) and alsa
(1.0.18).
After 20 minutes or so of playback using banshee, through pulseaudio, my laptop
starts making a worrying noise, like when you try to set a video frequency too
high. It's a low "frigging" sound. Needless to say, it makes me frightened
something's going to heaven.
It's also quite audible and annoying to hear, also leaving the volume
on.
Killing pulseaudio from the console does stop it. Exiting banshee or whatever
else doesn't help, though.
Maybe something with the new gapless-playback pulseaudio stuff?
