I am using Ubuntu 8.10 (upgraded from 8.04 a couple of weeks ago) on an Acer
Aspire M3610 - ZE7Z
When using Ubuntu 8.04 I had some random freezes. After updating to 8.10 this
problem seemed to have disappeared, but the last couple of days I've had
recurring freezes again.
The system freezes occur completely at random, I don't see any pattern.
My system now recovers after a random interval (which it didn't do when I was
using 8.04)
dmesg shows that I get soft lockups ([850474.220517] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1
stuck for 87s!)
All I see is that during this lockup my network-led is flickering like mad.
