What is the hardware configuration of your PC?
What kind of graphic card driver do you use?
Could you open a terminal, enter these lines:
lspci | grep VGA
glxinfo | grep rendering
And post the results here?
Have you been able to watch videos with older versions of ubuntu or other
operating systems?
