Update: attempting to connect phone to machine running Ubuntu 8.10
results in corruption of removable media.

Steps to reproduce:
1- attach phone to machine running ubuntu 8.10
2- attach phone to machine running windows (I'm using and up-to-date build of
XP)
3- attempt to write a file to the media card (I tried to copy a music file)
4- BSOD

This is consistent and can be reproduced. Reformatting the card via
windows (to fat32) cures the problem until read by ubuntu 8.10 again. At
one point the card became corrupted enough that the phone could not read
it - this was probably a result of me messing around with manually
mounting it yesterday (see post above).
