@Alexander Sack Finally installed the network-manager-pptp from intrepid-proposed. I needed to add refuse-eap via gconf-editor, not remember the password and put the domain on the username - however, it is all working now and I can easily connect to my corporate VPN once again. Thanks for looking into the issue and getting a fix out there.
