Binary package hint: desktop-effects
with desktop effects enabled matlab does not display...
the windows open but they are filled with gray space...
please note:
1) i have a nvidia card
2) to make compiz work i added this option to the "Screen" section of xorg.conf:
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
