I can control the volume from the front of my laptop, the usb - speakers and software (such as in the Volume Applet). When I choose - different sound configurations in the sound preferences, they sometimes - are not reflected in the volume applet (e.g. the volume applet has no - impact on the volume I hear in my usb speakers if I set my usb speakers - to output audio in my sound preferences). To make things even more - confusing, sometimes all my volume controls impact the volume I hear - (volume applet, USB speaker volume buttons and laptop volume buttons) - whilst sometimes the laptop buttons show a volume slider on screen - changing but do not change the volume while the volume applet can change - the volume. + on audio conference - audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! + audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could not get/set settings + from/on resource. - Furthermore, the auto detect setting, as well as ALSA and Pulse Audio - settings give me an error message upon testing in sound preferences and - than do not output any sound when. This is when the USB speakers are - unplugged.
