I confirm this bug (Devs: see below for the version of synaptic that I have).
Can you provide us the output of the following command? (You can open a
terminal by going into Applications > Accessories > Terminal)
apt-cache policy synaptic
You should get something like this:
synaptic:
Installé : 0.62.1ubuntu10
Candidat : 0.62.1ubuntu10
Table de version :
*** 0.62.1ubuntu10 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
