** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx

When the ATI proprietary driver is enabled the startup of the xserver
fails, prompting to either continue in low-graphics mode, reconfiguring
  xorg or troubleshooting the situation.

The reconfiguration fails every time I've tried it - the only thing that
works is to load the low-graphics mode using the alternate driver.

My graphics card is an ATI 9800XT.

It worked for a couple of days in Intrepid Ibex but then there was an
patch to the driver and it began to fail.
