Can't you just repeat what I did and see for yourself, or does it not happen on your set-up? Look at the two images I uploaded, the first shows the speed reported as 4198 KiB/s (24.4 x) which would be true for an Audio CD since 176400 bytes/s is 1 x CD-Audio speed, 4198 / 172.3 = 24.4, but for a DVD, 1 x speed is 1,385,000 bytes/s so it should be 4198 / 1352.5 = 3.1.
