hostid will either be useless (as it is now) or will change any time the
IP address changes (due to dhcp, etc). As such, it should not be used
to uniquely identify machines. Plenty of other things already create
relatively unique identifiers (e.g. filesystem & swap UUIDs), so an
additional mechanism is not needed.
